Post by: Whitley McCoy

Open Now / Late 2021 Arrivals:

New changes are coming to the Outer Banks! We are excited to be the first to tell you about the first drive through Starbucks on the OBX. Along with this exciting news, we also have many new businesses making their way to the beach.

The Outer Banks are growing each and every summer but this one is going to be one of the biggest yet!

Swells’a Brewing

Swells’a Brewing has an amazing view from the rooftop to keep you entertained while enjoying a nice cold beer. They have a variety of beers on tap starting with Cherry Sweltzers to Island Gull Hazy IPA. Swells’a Brewing’s main focus is beverages so bring your favorite snack or picnic or even take out to munch while you sip.

Swells’a Brewing is located on the beach road so you can miss out on the traffic and even take a quick walk to the beach after. It is family friendly so feel free to bring your little ones and even your dog.

Holy Cow Creamery

If you are looking for something that does not involve alcohol, try the new ice cream parlor, Holy Cow Creamery. Everything is made in house and some even say they have the best ice cream in town!

If you are a chocolate lover you will absolutely devour a scoop of the chocolate Butterfinger. If you are looking to go out of your comfort zone try their berry-lavender.

Holy Cow is located right near First Flight retreat which is a very convenient walk and the perfect snack after dinner.

Noosa

Noosa won best restaurant on the beach so it’s one you really don’t want to miss out on! It’s a family owned business with delicious homemade food with great prices. Try their seafoodpasta, it’s seriously amazing. If you are looking for some grass fed options, try out the crispy pork belly

Located right in the heart of Kill Devil Hills near Harris Teeter, Noosa is open 7 days a week for lunch & dinner.

2022 OBX Business Openings:

There is a lot of construction going on in the Outer Banks, mostly new houses. But there are a few exciting new business establishments coming to the OBX this year!

We are excited to share some exclusive details with you. We are looking forward to the new business opportunities and especially excited to have that quick chai latte from Starbucks so close to home.

NEW Starbucks Location

This will be the first and only stand-alone Starbucks with a drive-thru on the OBX. Our sources tell us that it’s expected to open by June 2022 for all you frappucino lovers out there!

This location, right next to Walgreens in Kill Devil Hills, will feature a drive thru, plus a spacious 700 square foot patio with heaters.

You’ll find it soon open at 1208 S Croatan Hwy @ MP 9. It’s location is super close to First Flight Retreat condos and the First Flight Rentals office so get excited for fresh morning coffee that you no longer need to brew yourself.

Coming Soon / In Development:

Target

Cookout

Out with the old (Burger King) and in with the new (Cookout)! The Outer Banks are over the moon about finally having a Cookout intown. We are so excited to finally have a food option for those late night cravings of an oreo milkshake. Cookout will soon open right at Milepost 9.5 in Kill Devil Hills.

Wawa

Wawa is rumored to be coming next to BB&T, across from the new Target in Kill Devil Hills, Milepost 7, not far from Croatan Surf Club & Seven Cs.

These projects are all still underwraps but we hope they will be ready by some point this summer. This summer is going to bring great things and we cannot wait to hear your thoughts on the new beginnings starting the summer of 2022.

We hope to see you there!
