Very few places compare to vacationing in the Outer Banks. The only little hiccup that you might run into during your stay here is an afternoon of rain. Rainy days can make a day feel lost, but don’t worry!

Rest assured that there’s still plenty to see and do on a rainy day in the Outer Banks! In fact, an occasional afternoon rain shower is often a welcomed reprieve during the dog days of summer.

Located on the northern-most stretch of the Outer Banks, Corolla is known for a bustling shopping, dining, and entertainment scene, in addition to the Currituck Beach Lighthouse and the popular wildlife museum

Whether you’re seeking an old favorite to re-read on a rainy day or an exciting new novel to discover for the first time, Island Bookstore is the Outer Banks’ go-to local bookshop. This cozy, family-friendly book store carries a variety of genres for any interest and reading level, including many books by local OBX authors.
