If cooking doesn’t feel like a vacation, then don’t worry, there are several places in the Outer Banks that remain open for Thanksgiving dinner. If you want a home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner, but you aren’t interested in going out to a restaurant, try out Kelly’s Outer Banks Catering offers a family-style Thanksgiving turkey dinner. The dinner serves 10-12 people and includes a whole roasted turkey with gravy, fresh cranberry relish, rolls, sweet potato biscuits, and your choice of four sides. This gives you the option to feel as if you are at your own home, without the stress of cooking. She is located in Kill Devil Hills but will deliver to you.

Red Sky Cafe

At Red Sky Cafe, get your favorite American and Coastal Carolina inspired Thanksgiving cuisine that you are longing for. They are serving food from 11 am to 3 pm and prices for adults are $35 and$16 for children under 12. Reservations are recommended as there is limited space. Bring the whole family or come as a couple, you will feel right at home at Red Sky Cafe.

MAKO’S BEACH GRILLE

Mako’s is serving the traditional plated Thanksgiving meal as well as their regular dinner menu. They are open from 11:30 am until 8 Pm Thanksgiving day. Reservations are accepted and curbside pick-up is also available. Their traditional plated meal consists of rosemary roasted turkey, shaved ham, homemade dressing with candied yams, fresh collard greens, steamed vegetables, mashed potatoes with giblet gravy, homemade cranberry relish, and sweet potato biscuits. The pricing for adults is $22.95 and $19.95 for seniors, and $9.95 for children 5-12, and kids under 5 are free.

Captain George’s

Enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving feast with an all you can eat buffet. Captain George’s offers entrees from snow crab legs, clams, mussels, salmon, a raw bar, and many more. Choose from an array of sides like stuffing, mac and cheese, rice, broccoli, and anything else your heart may desire. However, don’t fill up on the appetizers and entrees, you have to save room for their delicious desserts like pecan or pumpkin pie. There is something for everyone here even if you are not in the mood for a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

Basnight’s Lone Cedar Cafe

Basnight’s Lone Cedar Cafe is known for its local seafood and North Carolina grown vegetables, herbs, and greens. For Thanksgiving, they are open from the hours of 11 Am and 7 PM. They are taking reservations and seating on the 1/2 hour mark. They also have the option to pick up your meals and curbside delivery, for those who may want to enjoy their dinner in their own vacation rental. They will have either a traditional buffet or a Thanksgiving-themed menu that guests can order from.

Owen’s Restaurant

This Southern Coastal cuisine is offering curbside take-out for those looking for traditional, and non-traditional Thanksgiving dinners. The meals serve 4 people each and range in price depending on what feast you choose. They have an herb-rubbed turkey breast and Outer Banks honey ham for $75.00. They also offer a roast pork loin for $70.00, herb-roasted Rockfish and shrimp for $152.00, and the Owens’ slow-roasted prime rib with horseradish sauce and Au jus sauce for $135.00. You can add soups, sides, and desserts for an additional fee, or create your own meal with their A la Carte menu.

Mulligan’s Grille

Mulligan’s Grille offers a Thanksgiving day “Better Than A Buffer” Dinner. They have the option to dine in or carry out. The dinner plate is $21.00 and the family-style to-go that serves four is & $70.00. You can choose a plate that includes turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, sweet potato casserole, collards, and cranberry sauce. You can also choose a dessert and add on any menu item that you may want as an extra. They are accepting reservations for dine-in or carry out up to 48 hours in advance.

An Outer Banks vacation during the holidays is the perfect way to create new family traditions.
