Everyone visiting the Outer Banks area should take a short day trip to see the Duck NC Boardwalk, located just 30 minutes from Nags Head.

The Town Park Property
This property consists of four separate vegetative communities. These are the marsh, the maritime deciduous forest, the willow swamp and the maritime evergreen forest. The southern portion encompasses the maritime deciduous forest. A marvelous afternoon can be spent enjoying the southern red oaks, pignut hickories, sweet gum trees and Darlington oaks. The maritime evergreen forest is to the north and offers live oak trees and an endangered and rare plant community only found on the seacoast of North Carolina. The willow swamp is to the north and dominated by statuesque red maple and Carolina willow trees. The southside provides an incredible view of the Marsh communities where the conditions are favorable.
The Beaches Around Duck, NC
These waters are every beach daydream brought to life. This where the warm waters of the Gulf Stream meet to drive the currents of the ocean. The beaches in the Duck area have been built over years of improvements. The result is beaches stretching for miles. Many area beaches have been preserved for the wildlife and recreation.
