Twelve invitees from Virginia Beach battled it out with 12 Outer Banks invitees in what many called the best East Coast surf contest EVER!!. Team VB was victorious over the home-court OBX Team in what many considered an upset.
This years BATTLE OF THE BANKS will see the invitees list remain at 24 of the areas finest athletes (12 VB and 12 OBX), and with the overall field expanding to 40 total surfers. Eight lucky surfers from Virginia Beach, and eight shredders from the Outer Banks will have the opportunity to qualify for the BATTLE OF THE BANKS by simply out placing rival area surfers in this years OBX Pro, excluding the already inviteed surfers.
